The Friday 5 for February 18th

Definition: Sampling of articles and blog posts that caught our eye that will be of interest to Head Start, parent and early childhood education communities.

This week’s Friday 5:

  1. In her TED talk, The Linguistic Genius of Babies, Patricia Kuhl tells us that it’s the interactions that make the difference. We hope you enjoy this great video.
  2. Spring is in the air and it will be time to get in the garden soon! Check out this great article on gardening with preschoolers from Kids Gardening.
  3. Peaceful Playgrounds reminds us that play is NOT just for kids. Hear, hear!
  4. Sensory tubs are a great way to engage preschoolers in creative play and learning. We would love to hear about some of your favorite sensory tub ideas.
  5. This has to be one of the greatest ideas to “pup up” in ages — Pop Up Playgrounds! Now this is a trend we would love to sweep the nation.

That should keep you busy for a bit. :-)
