Definition: Sampling of articles and blog posts that caught our eye that will be of interest to Head Start, parent and early childhood education communities.

This week’s Friday 5:

  1. Slate gives us the great article, Why Preschool Shouldn’t Be Like School. (Right on!)
  2. Jenny gets us moving with Hopscotch Preschool Style. (FUN!) 
  3. Dr. Jim Taylor discusses The Lost Art of Play.
  4. Let’s hear it for playful parents! Woman offers a playful twist on Tiger Mom debate.
  5. The Nurture Store encourages to do an audit of our outdoor playspaces. My favorite recommendation — a “riot for the senses.”

OK, I think that should keep you busy for a bit. :-)
