It’s spring in the United States, yet for many children that does not mean much. With 7.5 hours a day spent on screen time (Keiser Family Foundation, 2010), the weather or time of year doesn’t seem to make much of an impact these days.
Rain or shine. Day or night. We’ve been losing our kids to screen time, and in many cases, we’ve been helping make it happen.
“Go outside and play,” is a phrase that has been disappearing from childhood over the last twenty years, and one that we need to take back. Immediately.
Luckily, the folks at the Campaign for Commercial Free Childhood have stepped in to help us out.
